Prêt à Pregnant talks with Marianne Theodorsen

Norwegian Marianne Theodorsen, is 35 years old. She lives in Oslo with her hubby and soon also her little baby boy will join them. She works with PR and social in fashion, and she loves good food, music, movies, flowers, late summer nights and getting dressed in the morning (most of the time). Today it’s time to talk and ask this gorgeous mommy to be everything about her style, her pregnancy and her beauty favorites.

How would you describe your own personal style?
Ever changing. I tell myself “never say never”, and I love to have fun with what I wear.

Your favorite maternity brand?
I don’t have any to be honest. I haven’t bought one single maternity item – I focus on clothes I can wear after the belly is gone too.

How would your friends describe you in 10 words?
Haha well that one I can´t answer. I hope some of the words will be kind, loyal, funny and loving tough…

How did you experience your first pregnancy?
It’s still surreal to me even tough my due date is just around the corner. It truly is a miracle the whole process, but in no way do I feel that my body is a temple or that I’m a goddess or powerwoman or any of that sort. I’ve been struggling with fatigue, morning sickness and back pain, but it could have been worse and it’s all part of the process I guess. I’m pretty relaxed about the whole thing…I think.marianne-theodorsen-chanel

What is/was your craving?
I haven’t had any really. Maybe just a little bit more of a sweet tooth than normal, but other than that there’s nothing I’ve HAD to have.

Did you change your beauty regime during your pregnancy?
I’ve had quite a few breakouts, so I’ve invested in some good anti-blemish serums and facemasks to cope with that. My favourites are the Gentle Cream Exfoliant from Dermalogica and the Pure Serum from Glossier. Pimples be gone!

What is your best kept beauty secret during your pregnancy?
It’s not a beauty secret, but more of a beauty favourite I would say: I oil up my belly with the pregnancy oil from Estelle & Thild twice a day to keep the skin hydrated and improve elasticity. And oh…put some oil on your ladybits while you’re at it – lord knows they’ll need all the help they can get.

Did you do any reading during your pregnancy? What is the best pregnancy book?
I haven’t read a single pregnancy book actually – Google is more than enough for me haha.

Can you describe the interior of your nursery in terms of style and theme? Are there any specific brands you used to decorate?
We live in a one-bedroom apartment, so the baby will sleep with us for the first year or so. I love the Stokke products, so we got him a little crib on wheels that we can move around the apartment.

Top 3 destinations to shop during your pregnancy
The same as before I got pregnant haha. Høyer where I work has the most amazing selection of high-end and luxury brands, and it´s a daily struggle not giving in to temptation. I love spending a little extra on beauty now that I´m pregnant, so I frequently pop by one of the small individual perfumeries here in Oslo like Gimle or Heaven Scent. Also I love Matches Fashion.

Your favorite restaurant and what to order there?
Oh no! It’s impossible for me to pick one favourite when it comes to food! I do love some great Mexican or Italian I must say – like a great seafood pasta or some delicious tacos!

Your favorite drink?
I’m sorry, but I can’t WAIT to get my hands on a stiff Bloody Mary once the baby is out. Might have to wait a few more weeks after that, but ooooh yessss…..
The best baby gift you got so far?
The baby Hammock from Natures Sway my parents got for the baby. Apparantly it’s the bomb!

What’s on your wishlist for your baby?
A healthy and happy life full of kickass moments, love and great laughs.

The top 3 websites you visit on a daily basis?
Other than the news I always check vogue.com, my Tumblr feed for outfit inspiration and perezhilton.com (oh I´m a gossip kind of gal…)

The top 3 Instagram accounts you follow:
There are sooo many!
@tommyton, @c_l_o , @pernilleteisbaek, @pornforwomen, @alwaysjudging, @manrepeller, @whowhatwear…the list goes oooon and oooon.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Which fashion mom you look at for inspiration?
There are so many cool mums out there: Pernille Teisbæk, Emma Leth, Natasha Goldenberg and Thora Valdimars are some of them.

What inspires you most in life and where do you find creativity?
Creativity is to be found anywhere if you just take the time to breathe and look. My friends and family are my biggest inspiration always – I’m so lucky to have them all in my life.

What keeps you relaxed in stressful times? Describe your ultimate Me-time moment.
A good face mask and getting my nails done. Yass!
How do you stay healthy? Are there any beauty and lifestyle tips you would like to share?
Oh my gosh I’m the worst. I never get into a good workout regimen, and I eat what I want when I want it. Enjoy life – that’s my best tip!!

And last but not least…… Share the best tip for other pregnant ladies.
Do what feels right for you and stop listening to what everyone else tells you. There is such a pressure in society that all mums should fit a certain norm – it´s not for everyone. Just keep’ on rockin and be fabulous – you can do this!

Also…take some extra time to get ready in the morning. For me feeling good about myself (or at least putting in an effort to do so) has been a lifesaver.
